Yalda Hakim is an award-winning international correspondent and documentary filmmaker. She anchors The World with Yalda Hakim on Sky News and co-hosts a global affairs podcast with Richard Engel.
With nearly two decades of frontline reporting, Yalda has covered major global crises including the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the fall of Kabul, and the Taliban’s return to power. Her live interview with a Taliban spokesperson during their takeover made international headlines.
She has reported extensively from Afghanistan, produced documentaries on life under Taliban rule, and addressed the UN Security Council in 2022. Her interviews span global leaders including Antony Blinken, Bill Clinton, Justin Trudeau, and Angelina Jolie.
Born in Kabul and raised in Australia as a refugee, Yalda is the founder of the Yalda Hakim Foundation, which provides scholarships for Afghan girls.
