Nadima Sahar leads AFF’s strategic direction and programs, bringing over 20 years of global experience across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Originally from Kabul, Nadima has dedicated her career to expanding educational access, advancing equity, and creating transformative opportunities for displaced and underserved communities.
Prior to joining AFF, Nadima served as the Director General for Technical and Vocational Education in Afghanistan, where she spearheaded nationwide reforms in workforce development and skills training. She also founded Soft Power Solutions, a full-service research and monitoring and evaluation firm that provided tailored support to public and private sector organizations across sectors such as education, livelihoods, refugee resettlement, women’s empowerment, governance, and humanitarian response.
Fluent in four languages and experienced in leading multicultural teams, Nadima has worked with organizations of all sizes – from grassroots startups to global institutions – managing grants of up to $300 million and raising more than $160 million in contracts throughout her career. Her expertise spans research, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and program development.
